HAEMONETICS Additive Solution Formula 3 (AS-3)250 mL

For use as an anticoagulant solution with Haemonetics MCSR + Red Cell Collection Disposables

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

1. Verify that the appropriate list number of the solution has been selected.

2. Remove bag of LN460A AS-3 from over-wrap. Notes: The over-wrap serves as a moisture barrier and upon removing the solution bag small droplets of condensation may be present. This is considered normal.  The AS-3 solution should be used within 8 hours of removing the over-wrap.

3. Inspect the LN460A AS-3 bag:

  • Ensure that the AS-3 has not expired.
  • Ensure that the luer cap is attached.
  • Ensure that the breakable seal is fully attached.
  • Ensure that the bag is not leaking.
  • Ensure that the AS-3 fluid is clear.


4. Using aseptic technique, remove luer cap from luer connector. 

5. Using aseptic technique, luer attach the AS-3 to the anticoagulant line of the apheresis disposable. 

6. Open the in-line breakable seal.
  • Hold the in-line breakable seal.
  • Open the seal by bending the tubing at the seal in a forward and backward motion.
7. Hang the CP2D with ports down on the left IV pole. 

8. The Haemonetics LN460A AS-3 is now ready to prime the disposable.

RECOMMENDED STORAGE:

Room temperature (25 degree C/77 degree F). Avoid excessive heat. Protect from freezing.

Note: No latex is contained in the solution or storage bag components.

Intended for use only with automated red cell apheresis devices. See Operator's Manual for additional Information and complete usage instructions. 

Each 100 mL contains:

Citric Acid (Monohydrate), USP  0.042 g
Monobasic Sodium Phosphate (Monohydrate), USP  0.276 g
Sodium Chloride, USP  0.410 g
Adenine, USP  0.030  g
Dextrose (Anhydrous), USP  1.000 g
Sodium Citrate (Dihydrate), USP  0.588 g
containing 15 mEq of Sodium.

CAUTION:

Not for direct Intravenous infusion. The pouch is a moisture barrier. Do not use unless solution is clear and no leaks detected. Single use container. Discard unused portion.
