Uses
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Lactisan is a premium, concentrated teat dip that dilutes to a 3.5% lactic acid pre and post dip.
- DO NOT use Lactisan at full strength.
- Consult your veterinarian before using a teat dip on a cow with sore or chapped teats.
- Do not pour unused teat dip back into original container.
- Do not use for cleaning or sanitizing equipment.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize teat dip cup before milking.
- Dip solution should be changed if it becomes visibly dirty, or if sediment is introduced.
- Discard any teat dip that becomes contaminated for any reason.
- Good dairy practices suggest the thorough cleaning and sanitizing of teats before milking to avoid contamination and assist in the control of mastitis.
DILUTION / MIXING DIRECTIONS Add 1 gallon of Lactisan to 3 gallons of water and agitate until thoroughly mixed. Proper dilution of Lactisan will yield 3.5% lactic acid with 5% sorbitol for skin conditioning. Failure to follow these mixing instructions may cause injury to animals or reduce the effectiveness of the product as a teat dip. |
PRE-DIPPING
- Remove excess organic debris and forestrip. (If water is used, use a minimal amount and dry thoroughly with a clean, single-service paper towel before forestripping.)
- Dip or spray cow's teats with properly diluted Lactisan teat dip.
- Allow a 30 second contact time.
- Dry teats thoroughly with a clean, single-service towel.
- Attach milker unit.
POST-DIPPING
- Immediately after milking unit is removed, dip or spray teats with diluted Lactisan.
- Before exposing cows to below-freezing temperatures, the teats should be thoroughly dry to reduce the potential of frostbite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in frozen teats and injured animals.
